The villa, in a well established colourful garden, is situated in the tranquil suburb of Sao Martinho with lovely views overlooking Funchal, the sea and harbour. Within easy walking distance of a large well equipped supermarket, bakery, post office, pharmacy, restaurant/takeaway and bus stops for the many buses that go regularly to downtown Funchal, only a few kilometres away, the house offers a welcoming and relaxing base for exploring the lovely island of Madeira and its friendly people.

From airport: it is a 20 minute drive to the villa.

• Take the main highway marked Funchal, Camara de Lobos, and Ribeira Brava for 20 kms.
• Then take the slipoff on the right marked Caminho do Pilar and (brown sign) Pico dos Barcelos with binoculars on it.
• Turn almost immediately left.
• After a very short distance (and under a bridge) turn first right into Rua Dr Barreto.
• The 4th left is Rua Dr Prof Marck Athias.
• No.12 is on the left with Villa Firdaus in brass letters on the gate pillar.
